Lifting Equipment and Lifting Accessories are a common item found within the workplace. In accordance with LOLER 1998, Lifting Equipment and Lifting Accessories must receive a Thorough Examination by a competent person typically every 6 or 12 months. Within this Lifting Equipment Inspection Course we go through common types of lifting accessories, such as slings, shackles, plate clamps, spreaders beams, and detail how they are used within lifting operations and also the correct procedure for carrying out a thorough examination (inspection) for that specific lifting accessory. An example of how the lifting equipment inspection course is structured would be the following. Sling Types - Specific Sling type overview - examination and reporting procedure for specific slling.

On successful completion of the ILEEB accredited portable lifting equipment inspection course you will receive a certificate declaring successful completion of course with a validity of two years.

COURSE AIMS

  • To teach delegates an overview of the examination process of in-service portable lifting equipment as required by The Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 and The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 along with any other applicable legislation.
  • To understand documentation requirements and various inspection techniques together with the rejection criteria for portable lifting equipment.
  • To understand how to produce reports and certificates of thorough examination in accordance with Schedule 1 of The Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 .
